For me, when it comes to fruit, colourful and vibrant is what I look for.

Today I want to talk to you about berries. Berries have a myriad of health benefits. So let’s take a look at how these tasty treats can help keep you healthy!

On JUST the surface, berries are packed with antioxidants, can help you lose weight, are loaded with fibre, contain a load of vitamin B, and possess a ton of anthocyanins.

This blog will take you through our *big four:

*Not to be confused with the deadly big five animals of Africa

Cranberries

1. They're anti-inflammatory and packed with antioxidants

2. Boost circulation

3. Offer disease protection

4. Support gut health

5. Help with immunity

Fun fact - Scientists are studying if they can prevent cancer and boost heart health. Watch how much of the juice you drink: Too much may upset your stomach and lead to kidney stones.

Açai:

2. Stimulates healthy digestion

3. Energy booster

4. High in antioxidants

Fun fact - Often called a superfood, because they may have more antioxidants than other berries. Those nutrients can stop cell damage that can lead to many diseases. Still, more research will help us know how much they can help.

Strawberry:

1. Source of vitamin C

2. Aids weight management

3. Good for heart health

4. Maintain healthy skin

Fun Fact - They may help lower high blood pressure and cholesterol, help you manage blood sugar, and fight the effects of ageing on your brain. Since strawberries spoil quickly, buy them often.

Blueberry

3. Promotes eye health

4. Aids digestion

Fun Fact - The deep blue of these berries does more than making a pretty pie. The colour comes from potent compounds called anthocyanins. Scientists think these antioxidants may help protect you from cancer, heart disease, and dementia, and boost your immune system. But we need more research to know for sure.
